Embrace the Light Within You
Hello, dear friends,
As I sit here with a comforting light behind me, I find myself yearning for warmth, and I suspect many of you feel the same. Wherever you are in the world, I invite you to join me in this soul-enriching conversation that I shared on YouTube. You can watch my latest video HERE.
I know many of you are feeling the weight of the world. I can’t help but notice the immense weight that many of us are carrying. From my clients to my loved ones, to those I’ve never met, I see the heaviness that envelops the world. Fear, anger, and frustration cast shadows upon so many of our lives.
What can we do during these times of devastation, sorrow, pain, and violence?
I often reflect on my own life and the lives of those in my immediate circles. How are our personal experiences related to the global stage? The interconnectedness of our lives cannot be denied, and our influence reaches far beyond our immediate surroundings.
Two of my boys were having a conflict about something the other day. They argued and disagreed, it escalated, but they eventually worked it out, and minutes later we found them laughing and playing together again. My oldest son mentioned his observation to me. “Mom, they argue a lot but then within minutes they are back to being best buddies again.”
Children are often our greatest teachers. They understand the simplicity of existence - living in the moment, appreciating the journey, and choosing love over fear. We don’t have to be “best buddies” with people we have a different viewpoint with, but we certainly can learn how to navigate the conflict in our lives with greater compassion and understanding.
Boundaries, both personal and collective, play a crucial role in fostering compassion. Self-compassion and compassion for others require these boundaries, not as barriers but as tools to express our needs.
We often find ourselves plugged into negativity, judgment, and criticism. But we have the power to unplug from this cycle, beginning with our thoughts.
Although the violence in the world can make us feel out of control, we do have choices. So, what can we do amidst the turmoil? First, turn your gaze inwards. Examine your self-talk and the words you use. Words hold energy, and they can either weigh you down or lift you up. Treat yourself with loving-kindness, and you’ll be much better able to treat others with that same care and respect.
Look at your actions and choices. Do you honor the Earth? Are you moving toward your dreams? Are you actively resolving conflicts and learning the art of setting healthy boundaries?
You have the power to create a ripple effect. As a part of our interconnected ecosystem, your actions, no matter how small, matter.
Kindness, love, and service can influence those around you.
🌟 Plug into Love and Light:
In a world where our attention is constantly pulled in every direction, we need to choose where to plug in. Instead of feeding anxiety and overwhelm, we can nurture love, light, and take mindful action.
Your light matters, and it can shine in the most unexpected places. Small acts of kindness can create a ripple that transcends borders. Be a kind word, a warm gesture, or a loving presence to someone today.
🌍 Be of Service: Help the Earth in your unique way, hug someone close to you, and extend kindness to yourself and others. By sharing your light and love, you can become a source of positivity in the world.
In a world where we can't control everything, we still have the power to choose how we live. Will it be with fear or with love, light, and mindful action?
